Sometimes a little impulsiveness is a very good thing

A beautifuly temperate late afternoon, it was clear the evening would be warm and balmy. At four-thirty I phoned my husband at work and said, "Let's skip dinner and meet at the ocean." I packed up some granola bars and snacks, brought him a change of clothes (I knew he'd want to dive in) and we did just that.

It was light when we arrived
we played...
while the sun set
and the sky darkened to an orange glow.

I know I can be much too impulsive. The fact that this photo was taken at the same place on the same day, but in early morning hours, reveals my fault all too well.

But some of our best memories are made when we stop to notice a lovely day and just...live. As we drove away from this place, pleasantly tired, my five-year-old mused, "God is weally, weally amazing, isn't He?"

He certainly is.

Beautiful! I'm sure your children will have such wonderful memories of you taking time to simply enjoy!

I love me a good bit of impulsiveness! I imagine your kids do, too.

You are so blessed to live near the ocean. We DO have lots of lakes in my state but it's not quite the same as the sound of the tide. LOVE the sound of the waves and the tides, love the colors of the sunset that you captured in these photos.

I'm the same way: I call it "spontaneity", which sounds more romantic than "impulsive". =) I feel that with many things, if you don't make time for it NOW, it will never happen.
The pictures are beautiful!

What a great idea! And one reason why it is SO expensive at the coastal regions of the Us is the beach- so take advantage of it

Wow Kristen, now you really make me miss you all. My girls especially miss seeing Gianna and Madeliene. We hope to see you all, especially be fore Killian turns two. Jeanette
