Not happy about this

I was signing in to Blogger when it asked me if I wanted to try the new design templates. I think this feature has been alive for months, but I never bothered to check it out before. You all know I don't change the look of my blog much. Once I like something, I like it for a long time. Also, I just don't enjoy "decorating" a computer space - trying to choose just the right header photo and just the right background color, font and font color. Blah.

A few minutes ago when Blogger asked me to try a new template I thought I'd see what Small Treasures looks like in blue. But when I hit "Apply to blog" it wasn't just a preview I was getting. Now I can't figure how to get my old template back (I can get the original template, just not my old customized version), AND my header looks terrible with blue so I switched the background to this weird green. I miss my old green.

Now I think I'm going to have to spend time on this, which I SO don't want to do. Yuck.

So bear with me for a while. I probably won't work on this until an evening sometime in the next week (depends on how long I'll put it off). I can't promise it will be very pretty in the end either, considering I intend to spend as little time on it as possible.

Poor thing. I had the same problem when I tried setting up a blog for my mom. I was so excited to show her how cool it could look but the new template wasn't at all flexible and I didn't know how to get to the classic template. Also, nothing seems to be compatible with the new template that looks remotely pretty. Good luck with the redesign.

It cracks me up that you don't like "decorating a computer screen" when you're so GOOD at decorating!!

Kristen, I'm like you. I'm happy leaving my blog just the way it is. I'd miss my look were it to get switched. I think it stinks that Blogger didn't let you preview before it applied the new look and didn't have an easy way to restore the previous settings. I hope you're able to get it back to the way you like it.

To tell you the truth, I don't mind it! But I'm like you when it comes to change. Eeeek! Creature of comfort, that's me.

Melanie, Blogger does have a preview option...but I clicked the wrong button. :) LOL!

Kristen,

I'm the worst about clicking the wrong button. My blogs comment notification emails to me have two clickable links. One link takes me to the blog page to see the comment, the other link permanently deletes the comment with no "are you sure you want to do this?" second chance. Can you guess how many times I've accidentally deleted a comment?

Kristen, it really does look okay. Don't sweat it...hug those beautiful babies of instead. I bet most of us would read your blog if you wrote on brown paper bags with crayons. :) Hugs!

It looks pretty! I recently switched to bloggers new updated templates. I love the new added features, like static pages/tabs on top and other things I can add easily on my "new" blog, instead of having to add it manually with HTML. Only thing that's harder w/ the "new" template is you have to use CSS to change it and I'm not that familiar with it. Then again...there are SO many tutorials online, but like everything, it takes time (at least for me) to figure these things out.

On my blog I have tips on how to change your background. Hope it helps you save time.
