Uh-oh

Oops. I just tried to trim my own hair and...well...cutting a straight line is not as easy as I thought it would be. I may have to go get it cut, which would be the first professional haircut I've had in four years. It's funny, we all have things we're willing to spend money on - I've no problem buying pretty bed or table linens or other happy-household items, but I can't bring myself to spend on getting my hair done. My husband has been cutting it for years. But he's out of town. There's a little salon just down the road, but as I'm typing this I'm thinking I'll just wear a ponytail for a while until his return.

I hate paying for a haircut too! I had my dad cut mine once. It.. well as you said - harder than it looks. It just keeps getting longer! Ponytails are a great look, in my opinion. :)

I did the same thing once -- just after having a new baby. The results were not good. God bless! :)

So funny! Get a cute little clip and pin it on up 'til your hub gets home!

My hair keeps getting longer and longer because I just don't get it cut, ha! I did find a salon that only charges $25 for a shampoo/cut/blow dry. The stylists are learning how to cut hair so that's why it's so cheap. We'll see...that might be where I go next before my hair is down to my ankles! ;)

I must be odd (or vain?). I love getting my hair did.

My dad cut my hair until I was in college. He did a great job! I wish he'd still do it, frankly, because I've never been as happy with the cuts I've gotten at salons as I was with the way he did it!

I am sure it's not as bad as you are thinking. I cut mine all the time. I guess I go in once a year to get it healthy. I completely know what you mean about not wanting to fork out the money for it though., I've gotta be related to you, I just know it!

Have you thought about a trying a cosmetology school? Advanced students cut your hair for a fraction of the cost of a salon. And they get credit for the time toward their license.

what in the world?! You cut your own hair!??! It's not *that* expensive to get a good cut... believe me, well, you know what I do ;) A little cash for a self esteem booster a couple times a year is so worth it! Call me and we'll fix you right up!

@Alishia - I'm right there with you! (I'm not throwing in the towel anytime soon!)

I'm with you--I always cut my own hair. I hate, hate, hate spending money on haircuts, especially since I'm never all that thrilled with the results. Long hair is easy to cut, IMHO.
