Adoptive motherhood has its benefits.
Like, when you're purchasing a few newborn items and the clerk asks, "Are these gifts? Would you like a gift receipt?"
"No thank you, they're for me."

Love it! We're adopting soon, April 24th is the birthmom's due date, know exactly what you mean. We're setting up nursery with our almost 3 year old adoptive son in tow. Very exciting! God's Will be done!

When we were awaiting our first child, we went to buy a buggy and cot, and the woman in the shop made me cry - she kept saying they had to have a due date for their records, and none of the dates I could offer were due dates as the child was already over a year old - and they date the warranty from the due date, so it was awful. I wish I could have found it funny and handled it with as much as grace as you did!

Yes- I love that you will be able to go to park days with a newborn and everyone will be amazed at the fit "supermom"! (Though I'm sure you will be a bit happily fatigued)
