Gather the kids. Show excitement. Tell them it's Dad's special day. Just because. Ask them to think of ideas to make him happy when he walks through the door. See what they come up with. Whatever they want. Then stand back and enjoy the scene.

Good idea. :) My husband is out of town (for 6 months! groan), and I've come to the realization that small moments like the one you posted here are incredibly powerful. This long absence is making me take another look at how often I let my husband know how much we adore him. Thanks for the reminder. :)
