Needs

I've been feeling frustrated lately. Happy, enjoying the new school year, enjoying my husband and my children, but also frustrated. It seems after twelve years of marriage major things around the house need replacing. A dining room table and chairs. A queen-sized mattress. A refrigerator.

But then I read posts like this one (be forewarned, if you read one of Katie's posts, you will not stop until you've read them all), and this one, and all my "needs" are put into perspective. One thing I know I truly need, is to fill my mind with more of what I've been reading lately. This kind of spiritual brain-and-heart food can only do good, and hopefully help me "grow up".

WOW! Thank you for taking me on a wonderful journey. What a wonderful reminder of how blessed my life truly is.

Mary took the words right out of my mouth: "WOW!" and "Thank you!" Kristen, for perspective. God bless this woman. Let us pray for more vocations and good Catholic missionaries who, through God, can help people like Michael and Patricia and their families in both body and soul.

Today is my beloved Jacob's 6th birthday. We had a fun day planned, until Rose woke up with a wretched virus. aaagghhh!! I was feeling terrible for Rose, bummed out for Jacob, and increasingly overwhelmed by our home/lack of space for this growing family. Now it is with a humble heart and grateful spirit that I offer up prayers of thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing that post, it really puts things into perspective. I will pray for that minstry. Kelly

After a long stressful day, I decided to check out you blog, because it always provides a fresh perspective.. i am so glad I did. My own concerns and "issues" pale in comparison. Neither my own two boys, nor my thirty-two fifth and sixth grade students have been able to go outside for a week, the smoke is so thick from the Station Fire. I was feeling a bit stressed..But THANK YOU for posting this- I am reminded of how lucky I am to have a healthy family, and a rewarding career.

Momof2boyz, those fires are terrible. Praying you stay safe!
