Where do they get this stuff?

So, Gianna and I are having a mini battle of wits tonight at the dinner table, when little four-year-old Madeleine totally by chance interjects at just the right time:

"Ooohh, now the tables are turned."

Shocked, I look over at her in disbelief that she'd think to make such a remark, when Gianna explains, "She didn't mean the tables actually turn, Mother. It's a figure of speech."

Well, ok then. Seems I've been outwitted. By a four and a six year old. ???
