Sleep to Live

It's true, what they say, if you don't sleep well you don't live well. Our new mattress arrived last week after months of waking up with aching backs on our twelve year old bed-turned-kids-trampoline. I think we must have tested thirty mattresses in the store before we decided on the one we did, which felt like complete bliss to both of us....in the store. Today marks the third morning my poor husband has risen having enjoyed nearly no rest. Certainly no bliss.

I just ordered a 2" natural latex topper to soften the bed - something we anticipated we might have to do since we didn't buy a pillowtop. We loved the latex mattresses in the store, but they were all much too pricey. We're hoping this solves the problem so we don't have to exchange the mattress and pay a 20% restocking fee. Wish us luck, would you?

Oh, boy... we are expecting a mattress delivery today after sleeping on our nearly fifteen year old one! I hope we are happy with it! We didn't order a pillowtop either and would have loved to have purchased a memory foam type mattress.

Oh Julie, I hope your mattress works well for you! If not, you can always buy a memory foam or natural latex topper (I love the latex!). I'll let you know how mine works out.

Kristen, we are currently sleeping on a--no joke--30 year old mattress that my inlaws gave us. It's in pretty deplorable share, but it's a king-size and with little ones (who are getting bigger each day) still crawling into bed each night and few funds to spare, we needed to upgrade to a larger size for our family bed.

The only salvation we have is a 3-inch memory foam mattress topper from overstocks.com. It softens the lumps and conforms to your back. We sleep wonderfully on it now!

Prayers that you can get a restful night soon! And thank you for the kind comment on my blog!

Oh Kristen! I feel your pain! We bought a new mattress and it was a wreck!!! We called and talked to them, and they came and, yes, it was indeed a wreck! They had to order us a new one because they BROKE it delivering it. We didnt know it was broken until the adjuster to check it out. The mattress was sagging almost 2"! And it was only 3 weeks old!! So, after getting a new one, we are much happier!

Good luck with it all.

(sorry about that...)

We are hoping(me more than him ;-)) to replace our 15+yo matteress soon. We think we have learned, from living in Europe, to have a queen size bed frame but two twin matteresses. Then each chooses a type - firm, soft...
Also ones turning (and throwing off covers due to menoPOWS!) isn't so disruptive to the other.

I once ordered latex memory foam via the internet only to find it was a faux version...but it has worked okay.

Here's hoping better sleep for you both!

This is all too familiar...or mattress is in pretty good condition but our dilema is the size of our bed..YEP..we sleep in my hubby's bachelor full sized bed lol. We really need to consider buying a queen sized bed..I notice that we do have restless nights sometimes because we can't really stretch or lay the way we want in order to make room for each other. The issue is $$$ they can be so expensive:{ So yeah...we need to pray about it.
