Gianna goes on to explain, "Yeah, that's where you go to search for things on the computer. It's an engine that answers all your questions."
At this moment I realize these girls will never know how to use a card catalog and suddenly, I'm feeling very old. :)

We were so lucky to grow up with wooden card catalogs and those pockets in the front for checkout. I have always wanted to write a book about little notes that might be found in those front pockets. But alas, children won't know what they are.
I posted about a book this morning that I think you and your girls would adore.
Wow, to think our children will never experience a lot that we did as kids. Imagine what they will experience as they get even older!
I was thinking about that this morning. I don't even know how to teach my daughter how to research things now. We just Google it. Weird.
I am a school librarian and the children ask me all the time what the pockets are and why there are cards in them in some of the older books we have. I've tried to explain and they just don't get it! Haha! :)
Teach them to use a card catalogue.
It is hard to believe kids at least of high school age don't use a card catalog.
It is like proof reading. Who does that with spell check. From manuscripts I've seen they need to.
It's a different world, now!
