....practicing with Gianna is about the only exercise I get. But it certainly is a lot of fun. I used to practice in sweatpants and socks until my generous mother-in-law bought me my own ballet attire (after hearing my wishing for such silliness!). And now for 30 minutes a day, a few times a week I get to feel....like a ballerina.

Very cute. :) I can just picture it. As for the recital attire, that looks just like the costumes we wore when I was little and doing ballet. I like your ideas better too.
Also, I'm not sure that the yellow one would be that bad were it not for all the makeup on that poor little girl. Ick.
How fun! And what a nice mother-in-law! :)
Oh Erika, I couldn't agree more. I'm hoping we'll stick with little or no makeup and classic buns in the girls' hair.
Cheryl, I have the best mother-in-law in the world. She's wonderful!
I followed along with my daughter's ballet class for about 15 minutes once (all the other parents dropped their girls and left). I was sore for days. Great exercise!
Oh Michelle, was it your calves?? It's amazing what a workout your legs get from being on your toes so much. Sore indeed!
My daughter just went on pointe and I wouldn't DREAM of exercising along with her! But maybe if I had kept on it from the beginning I'd be in super-duper shape by now..........ha! Those shoes are delightful.
awww, too cute!
Kristen,
I just found your blog and have really enjoyed seeing your service to God in your home by loving your family. I am home with 5 little ones (2 new babies) and also homeschool. I am so thankful for this priviledge.
About ballet: I have 2 NYC ballet exercise DVDs that I have loved doing in our basement (I was a dancer). My girls aren't old enough yet, but in our community there are a couple of ballet classes whose purpose is to glorify God. The girls pray and read scripture, etc. The attire is lovely. There is a beautiful ministry at my church (and I know there's more). Not criticizing your daughter's costume...just relating what options there are here in my community!
warmly, Mrs. B
