Birthday Fun

Today is the Feast of the Archangels, and it's my birthday! I entered my 34th year of life in the wee hours of the morning. Yippee! My husband says I'm probably the only woman who is excited by getting older and finding new gray hairs on her head. I suspect I'm not the only one, but the rest of what he says is true.

In honor of my big day and in plain-old good fun, I'd like to give away a little present. April Cornell makes darling petticoats for little girls. I love using them as summer nightgowns for my own girls, as seen here and here, but they would make lovely dresses worn alone or with a pinafore. The petticoat I am giving away is brand new and fits a two to three year old. It is short-sleeved, 100% cotton with gathered yoke and trimmed with crochet lace. Sweet and simple for your own little one, for your hope chest, or as a gift for someone you love.

Now, to receive this little birthday present from me, you must guess the answer to the question provided below. While pondering what I would ask, I realized I needed a question with a particular answer, and one no one could know (only my husband and mother are privy to the knowledge at present). I also wanted the nature of this to be more fun than serious, hence the silly question. If more than one of you answers correctly, the first to leave a comment wins.

**What will Gianna be for Halloween this year?**

Hints: 1. There are no clues contained in the writings of this blog (I'm pretty sure), and 2. The costume is for Halloween, not the feast of All Saints.

I'll be out of town visiting with family for the weekend, so you have until late Monday at the stroke of midnight to guess. Good luck and have fun! I'm eager to see the responses. :)

Yay! Today we get to celebrate both those awesome Archangels and our much-loved Kristen!

I don't have the time or the werewithal to make a guess right now but I would like to wish you the happiest of birthdays and do you know? If we lived closer we could celebrate together? (Hint: I have a special devotion to the Guardian angels on account of my special day.)

Love to you & your family!

Happy Birthday Kristen!!! I haven't the least idea what your little Gianna is going to be - but wouldn't she make a beautiful little princess? or maybe a rainbow? How many guesses do we get anyways? ;-) LOL

Happy Birthday, Kristen! I hope it was a wonderful day!

As for the Halloween costume, my guess was going to be angel, but that's already been guessed. How about a little mouse?

My Mary Clare guesses a pumpkin, Ellie guesses a butterfly. And a 2nd guess from Mary Clare...a teddy bear!

But that might be too many guesses for one family ;)

Happy Birthday! And many more...

I guess Gianna will be an ice cream cone. I saw this costume in a magazine this week and none of my children want to be it, but I really think someone should be it, so maybe Gianna.

Will Gianna be a flower?

PS I love the blog. My husband and I are in the process of adopting our first child. We can't wait to get her home! Please remember our adoption in your prayers.

Kristen -- I guess a corn cob but may not be elligible: first because I did not call you on your birthday; second because, even though I did not talk to her, I do know your mother; 3rd I am a member of the family

Happy Birthday Kristen! God's choicest blessings on you and your family as you begin another year. As for Gianna, I'd have to go with one of the guesses that has already been posted: a ballerina.

Hi Kristen! Happy Birthday a few days late! I"m guessing Gianna is going to be a Starbucks Barista, because that was my favorite costume in the little halloween parade at school I went to last year :) (She was a kid after my own heart!)

Happy bIRTHDAY! I guess a tiger. My 8 year old son guesses a dead, rotting, stinkin' fish. I truly hope he's wrong!

You know, I just saw the cutest butterfly costume and thought it was a great idea, but also must admit thinking along the same lines as the person who guessed grapes. My curiousity is certainly peaked to know what she is going to be.
