Snow days.....

.....make for perfect indoor activities. Yes, we have snow here in southern California! Not in my neighborhood, but just a bit north the 5 freeway was closed today due to "falling snow, sleet and ice on the roads". It feels chilly enough to wear a winter coat outside, even here. But I've always believed that with benefits come drawbacks, and vice versa. Though the weather is less than desirable, we have a beautiful view of snow-capped mountains from our bedroom window, and today Gianna and I had a lot of fun making these, which we found in this cookbook given to us by Grandma Carol:

Can you guess what they are?

They've got to be wooly sheep. I have made a full sized birthday cake like these before. They look yummy!

Those are adorable! My dd loves to cook, too, and is finally able to do "real" cooking to help me out sometimes. She makes a mean mac and cheese, not to mention her delicious grilled cheese sandwiches! :)

Kristen, is the cookbook worth the investment? Did you like it a lot?

Ladies, how funny. All your guesses made me smile. Our neighbor's daughter thought they were ghosts! Yes, Dawn and Erin, they are sheep/lambs. The faces didn't come out quite right because I was holding Gianna's hand so that she could draw them with my help.

Michelle, the small book is fun for kids(It has some adorable potato "mice" that I want to try next week). The recipes are simple and tasty and the photographs are sweet. Drop me a note if you'd like me to email you the Table of Contents.

Erin, I just got your beautiful Christmas card today. Your children are adorably precious! I'm so happy you stopped by.
